When You Visit Hawaii, You Must Check Out Some of these Best Golf Courses

Do you love golf? If you do, then you know what it’s like to seek out a new course and play for the first time. You also know how great it feels to return to your favorite courses. The world has quite a few wonderful courses, but it is no exaggeration to say that the beautiful state of Hawaii has some of the best. The state has gorgeous scenery, a varied landscape, and exquisitely maintained courses. If you have a timeshare in Hawaii and you are a golfer, you will probably want to play all of the courses on the islands at some point. It is a good idea to start with the best though. Here are some of the top choices!

Mauna Kea Golf Course

Mauna-Kea-Golf-CourseThis course is at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, and it has been open since 1964. Some of the first players on the course include Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, and Jack Nicklaus. The course has always been popular, and the recent renovation in 2008 helped to make it even better. The service at the course is wonderful, and they have a great restaurant on-site for after your game.

The Experience at Koele

Koele-golf-courseThis course is 2,000 feet above sea level, and the course offers some great views of the ocean, the mountains, a lake, waterfalls, and more. It’s one of the most picturesque golf courses you will ever have the pleasure of playing. The course has been around since 1991. They have a pro shop, putting green, driving range, and more.

Club at Hokulia

Club-at-HokuliaLocated along the Kona Coast near Kailua-Kona, the Club at Hokulia is a relative newcomer to Hawaii. It opened in 2002 and was designed by none other than Jack Nicklaus. Many consider this a difficult course, but it is still fun to play.

The Plantation Course

The Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort is another lovely choice. The par-73 course that Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore designed has a wonderful setting that offers some fantastic views of the ocean. You may want to indulge at the Plantation House restaurant after the game too.

These are just some of the many wonderful golf courses in Hawaii. Of course, you may find that you want to do more than just play golf when you are vacationing in Hawaii! Make sure you check out the beaches and all of the other attractions the state offers.
