Maui, Hawaii is easily one of the most beautiful places on the planet as well as one of the most popular vacation destinations. The verdant jungles, white and black sand beaches, and inviting water make it a true paradise, and visitors who arrive are never without plenty of great things to see and do. They can find a treasure trove of activities and locations to visit. Here are some of the very best things to do when you and the family are in Maui.

Take the Road to Hana

The Road to Hana is a long and winding road that takes vacationers toward the eastern part of the island and the small town of Hana. Travelers could go with a tour or group, or they could rent vehicles and drive on their own if they prefer. The road crosses 59 bridges and encompasses 620 curves, so it is both a fun and a scenic drive.

Visit a Volcano

Dormant Mt. Haleakala is a massive volcano that rises more than 10,000 feet above the island. It is one of the most popular attractions on the island, and is a great place to explore and see a variety of different types of terrain. You can find hiking trails in the area and plenty of places to take beautiful photos at Haleakala National Park.

The Seven Sacred Pools

The Seven Sacred Pools is a highly popular attraction for anyone who visits Maui. It features beautiful pools of water and waterfalls that come down from East Maui Mountain. This is actually a part of Haleakala National Park and is a spot you simply do not want to miss.

Makena State Park

Featuring 165 stunning acres, the park also happens to be the home of two of the best beaches on the island – Big Beach and Little Beach. Big Beach is a great spot for body boarding, cooling off in the water, and simply enjoying the sand and sun. Little Beach actually has an appropriate name. It's a great place to swim, and is one of the only nude beaches on the island.

The Hawaii Nature Center

Once you come to the state, the beauty will really make an impression on you, and chances are you will want to know more about what makes the environment tick. The Hawaii Nature Center is the perfect place to find out more about the terrain and the flora and fauna that make up the state. Children will have a great time at the center thanks to all of the interactive activities it offers.

The above are certainly some of the best things to do when you are in Maui and want to drink in the visual splendor the island offers. It's just the beginning though. Maui has plenty of other things to keep your attention, and you will never run out of things to enjoy when you spend your vacation there!

Make sure you have a great place to use as your base of operations though. Many find that the features and amenities in timeshares offer them an experience close to having a home away from home, and a timeshare could be the best way for you to experience the island as well.
