How would you feel about getting away from it all and heading to beautiful Aruba Aruba? You could spend some time relaxing on the beach with a nice tropical drink in your hand, and then you could… well, what else is there to do in Aruba besides spend time on the beach? You will actually find a wealth of different attractions and activities that will appeal to everyone in the family. Let’s look at some of the best places to visit right now so you can start making your plans and booking your itinerary.

Visit Some Caves on the Island

You don’t have to dress up like a bat to appreciate caves. Two of the best in Aruba are the Fontein and Quadirikiri Caves, both of which are in Arikok National Park. The caves have paintings from the natives, as well as plenty of great places to take some photos. You can even see some bats in the caves. Don’t worry; they are completely harmless.

Spend Time at the Ayo Rock Formations

This is a very popular location on the island, and it is a place you will not want to miss. It features a large number of diorite boulders that have some rather unique and interesting appearances. The location is very peaceful and relaxing. You’ll see ancient drawings from the natives, and you can see many of the different types of plants and animals native to the island. It’s a perfect place to spend a couple of hours just drinking in the beauty and taking some photos.

The National Archeological Museum

Those who want to know more about the history of the island and the earliest inhabitants will find this museum to be the perfect destination. It features artifacts, such as pottery, tools, and art from the natives. It offers some hands on activities as well that kids and adults alike can enjoy, and the museum is the perfect place for history buffs to spend a couple of hours.

The Donkey Sanctuary

While you probably never thought there would be a sanctuary for donkeys, that’s exactly what you will find here. The sanctuary takes in and cares for wild donkeys that are injured or ill, and it gives the animals a safe place to stay. This is a very popular location for anyone who loves animals, and if you have kids with you, this is especially fun.

The Aruba Ostrich Farm

Another location that animal lovers might like is the Aruba Ostrich Farm. You can learn all you ever wanted about these interesting birds. They also have an African Art Shop where you can look for souvenirs, a playground for the little ones, and a place to dine at the Savanna Lodge.

Philips Animal Garden

Before we finish with the animal attractions, we have to discuss Phillip’s Animal Garden. It started out small enough – just a guy who took care of his neighbor’s boa constrictor. Then, he took in an ocelot, and a host of other different animals that were in need of his care. Now, you can stop by and see what other animals he has in the menagerie.

These are just some of the different types of things you can do and places you can go when you are in Aruba. Of course, don’t discount having a day or two where you do nothing but enjoy the water. Sitting on the sand, snorkeling, and diving are great ways to relax, and the watery activities are some of the things that helps to make Aruba the popular destination that it is.

Of course, when you are out and enjoying all of these activities, you also need to have somewhere that you can go and relax at the end of the day. You need your own sanctuary. While a hotel might work for some people, you want something that’s a bit better, larger, and more comfortable. Getting a timeshare, whether you buy the unit or you simply rent it for a week, is a perfect solution. You can enjoy the larger accommodations that timeshare properties offer, as well as the features and amenities that you may not find in lesser locations. It’s the smart and relaxing way to stay.
