Timeshares, on the other hand, are like condos. They offer private bedrooms, large common areas, a kitchen, a laundry room, and usually a balcony (or two).

Timeshares also offer many resort amenities that hotels do not, like: private beach access, golf courses, swimming-pools, health clubs, tennis and racquetball courts, picnic grilling areas, kids’ activities, and much more.

Are Timeshares Affordable?

Because they are divided among multiple owners, timeshares afford owners the unparalleled luxury of resort ownership, for about the same amount they might pay to rent a quality hotel room for a week’s time.

However, when you buy timeshare directly from the resort, you’re subject to their often exorbitant marketing fees and profit margin, meaning you could end up paying thousands more than necessary to secure your annual or biennial vacation.

Resort Condominiums International (RCI) is the largest and most expansive exchange club, therefore offering the most options in worldwide travel.

What if I Can’t Use My Time?

If, for whatever reason, you aren’t going to be able to use your vacation property one year, you’ll still be responsible for paying the maintenance fees. While these fees are nominal in comparison to what you might spend for weeklong accommodation in a hotel of similar quality, nobody wants to be stuck paying for something they can’t use.
